Week 1: Into the Light

For 2016, I decided I was going to draw something every week. It may not be a finished image like this one. It may just be a sketch, but it will be one thing every week. I drew this last Saturday and finished coloring it tonight.

Inspired by Jordan's LARP scene last Friday, this is an image of my character Linnea Ban-Fajir running out of the Labyrinth in the game Waypoint: A Fatebound Journey; drawn with pencil, inked and colored with copics. I'm incredibly proud of how this image turned out. As a practice in backgrounds (which I rarely do) and dynamic poses, I think it starts the year out with a bang. I love Ban's expression, I love the pose, I love how the lighting worked out with the shading. I'm super, super pleased with this piece :3

My only wish is that scanners did ink on paper more justice - it's even prettier in "reality".
